A method of controlling a lift installation (10) with several lifts (11 12, 13), in which destination call inputs of passengers are input by way of destination call input apparatus (14) and in which at least one traffic criterion (32 33, 34), which characterises a traffic intensity of the lift installation (10) is measured by a lift control (16) wherein the lift control (16) allocates costs-optimising lifts (11 12, 13) to the destination call inputs.
