Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention concerns a composition based on zirconium and cerium oxides in an atomic ratio Zr/Ce > 1 and further comprising lanthanum oxide or an oxide of a rare earth other than cerium and lanthanum. The invention is characterized in that after calcination for 6 hours at 1150 ·C it has a specific surface area of not less than 10 m?2¿/g. The composition is obtained by forming a mixture containing a sol of a zirconium compound and cerium lanthanum, said rare earth compounds, contacting said mixture with a basic compound solution while heating and calcining the resulting precipitate. Why it's free to use

  • Filed June 26, 2003 and granted May 29, 2018. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended June 26, 2023.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 26, 2025.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
