A fuel processing system (10) for a turbine engine includes a fuel processor (10) which mixes fuel and air through a vortical flow which involves the introduction of air tangentially into the fuel processing chamber (16) through inlet apertures (26) formed in the outer wall of the fuel processing chamber (16). The vortical flow of fluid inside the fuel processing chamber (16) breaks down or atomizes fuel such that the resulting fuel/air mixture will be ideal for combustion. The fuel/air mixture is thereafter introduced into a combustion chamber (20) of the combustor of a turbine engine apparatus.

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 28, 2003. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 28, 2023.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 28, 2025.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
