Abstract From the Canadian patent

A new averaged/continuum model is presented for simulation of wormhole formation during matrix stimulation of carbonates. The averaged model presented here takes into account the pore level physics by coupling the local pore scale phenomena to the macroscopic variables (Darcy velocity pressure , and reactant cup-mixing concentration) through the structure-property relationships (permeability-porosity, average pore size-porosity and interfacial area-porosity) and the dependence of the fluid-solid mass transfer coefficient and fluid phase dispersion coefficient on the evolving pore scale variables (average pore size, local Reynolds and Schmidt numbers). This model allows better …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 29, 2003 and granted January 21, 2014. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 29, 2023.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 29, 2025.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
