A hand-held sonic token (12) can be used as a pseudorandom oracle for a requesting application, which can generate a challenge that is sent to the token (12). The user of the token (12) decides whether to allow the token (12) to function as an oracle, and if so, the user causes the token (12) to digitally sign the challenge and send it back to the requesting application (34), for use of the digitally signed challenge as an encryption key. Why it's free to use
- Filed May 15, 2003. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 15, 2023.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 15, 2025.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
