The invention concerns a flexible thermal insulating material 1 made up of reflective elements separated by an interleaving material rolled around a closed, curved surface 7. It includes a reflective sheet 2 on which an interleaving material 3 is placed presented in the form of a powder with granulation of less than 1 µm the said reflective sheet 2 rolled upon itself or folded to delimit the reflective elements. The reflective sheet 4 is an aluminium sheet whose thickness is between 5 and 100 microns and the powder 3 is distributed to a thickness of between 10 and 300 microns. Application of the material for thermal insulation of curved or flat surfaces.
