Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention concerns a method which consists in providing installation of safety equipment on the cable which takes over from original anchoring elements of said cable in case the latter breaks. Said safety equipment consists of a component (11) serving as hammer in the form of two half-shells fixed on the cable (7), and a damping device (12) subject of the patent application FR-02 05105 in the form of a U-shaped or .OMEGA.-shaped gutter which encloses the cable (7) and whereof the deformability corresponds to the variation in the length of the cable when its tension is released after breaking.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed April 29, 2003. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended April 29, 2023.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 29, 2025.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
