Abstract From the Canadian patent

In a finishing machine for paper that is arranged to guide a paper web along a predetermined path, a tail of the web or an auxiliary member (6) for transferring the tail of the web is drawn with a traction device (2) comprising power transmission of its own by means of which the traction device moves in relation to a guide (1) extending in the machine direction. The movement of the traction device in relation to the guide is attained by means of a friction contact of one or several drive wheels (3) of the traction device with the guide (1), and the friction contact plane of the guide (1) curves in directions perpendicular thereto in accordance with the travel path of the paper web.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed April 30, 2003. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended April 30, 2023.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 30, 2025.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
