In a wireless location system, narrowband (10-2) receivers are used in a mode known as automatic sequential tuning, in which the receivers are tuned sequentially and in unison to a plurality of predefined RF channels. Signal transmissions in these channels are digitally recorded and used in location processing. Why it's free to use
- Filed March 21, 2003 and granted May 22, 2012. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended March 21, 2023.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 21, 2025.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
