Abstract From the Canadian patent

A process is provided for providing a pilot aided phase recovery of a carrier of an input digital , signal. The process includes for each signal field of the input digital signal: calculating an , unwrapped pilot phase estimate; initiating a first digital phase locked loop implementing a phase , estimate algorithm and calculating a forward phase trajectory; initiating a second digital phase , locked loop implementing a phase estimate algorithm and calculating a backward phase , trajectory. The process then calculates a combined phase trajectory from the forward and , backward phase trajectories and a phase correction is obtained using the combined phase , trajectory. The phase …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed July 28, 2004 and granted July 2, 2013. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended July 28, 2024.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 28, 2026.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
