An electroluminescent (EL) coating system for a vehicle and method of providing the EL coating system are disclosed. A dielectric coating composition is applied to a conductive substrate such as an automotive body , panel. Application of the dielectric coating composition which includes an EL , phosphor, forms a dielectric film layer on the substrate. A conductive coating composition, which includes an electroconductive additive is applied to the , dielectric film layer to form a conductive film layer on the dielectric film layer. The dielectric coating composition is disposed between the substrate and conductive film layer such that the conductive film layer remains spaced from the …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 16, 2002. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 16, 2022.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 16, 2024.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
