The present invention provides a data mining framework for mining high-quality structured clinical information. The data mining framework includes a data miner (350) that mines medical information from a computerized patient record (CPR) (310) based on domain-specific knowledge contained in a knowledge base (330). The data miner (350) includes components for extracting information from the CPR (352), combining all available evidence in a principled fashion over time (356), and drawing inferences from this combination process (357). The mined medical information is stored in a structured CPR (380) which can be a data warehouse.

Why it's free to use
- Filed November 4, 2002. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended November 4, 2022.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 4, 2024.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
