The device (10) includes a coil (12) which is positioned around a longitudinal axis (11.1) of the weapon barrel (11) in the region before the exit and a supply device (15) for impressing a current (I) in the coil (12) to generate a magnetic field (H). The device (10) additionally includes an analysis device (16) which reads off a voltage pulse on the coil (12) induced during the passage of the projectile (1) through the magnetic field of the coil (12). Two predetermined points of the voltage pulse are detected the time interval between the two points is determined and …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed April 16, 2004 and granted February 7, 2012. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended April 16, 2024.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 16, 2026.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
