Abstract From the Canadian patent

A connection system (10) for communicating multiple signals between a steering wheel (16) and a steering column (22) of a vehicle over a single wire (24) is provided that uses time division to multiplex multiple signals. A plurality of signals are multiplexed together ranging from two to as many signals as desired. Input switches (32, 34) are grouped together to form a ladder multiplexer, such as a resistive multiplexer (28 30), that includes voltage , and current muxing. A plurality of ladder multiplexers are joined together in a time division multiplexing scheme that operates continuously. An analog line may be added as a single channel. Why it's free to use

  • Filed August 16, 2002. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended August 16, 2022.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 16, 2024.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
