A fluid filter assembly (12) includes a filter housing (24) a filter element , (20), and an outlet conduit (30) coupled to the filter housing to discharge liquid fluid from a filtered fluid region (60) in the filter element (20). An elongated grommet (10) is mounted an outer surface (65) of the filter element (20) and an inner surface (74) of the filter housing (24).
