A power steering system (10) for a watercraft comprises a hydraulically actuated, unbalanced steering cylinder assembly (32) a pressure source (30), and helm (26) that is spaced from the steering cylinder assembly (32). The helm (26) includes a helm cylinder (70) having a slave chamber (98) luidically coupled to a second chamber (56) in the steering cylinder (50) a high , pressure port fluidically coupled to the outlet of the pressure source and to a first chamber (54) in the steering cylinder (50) and a return port (88) , fluidic ally coupled to vent.
