Abstract From the Canadian patent

Systems and circuits embodying the invention include means for sensing at least one of the peaks, amplitude and frequency of an oscillatory input force impinging on a power generating device (22) for controlling the turn-on of a switch used to transfer energy collected by the power generating device to an associated load. The power generator may be a transducer such as a piezoelectric device or a wave energy converter (WEC). Sensors and sensing means embodying the invention are used to control the point in time at which power extracting circuits are switched in circuit with the power generating device. The power extracting circuit may include components which can resonate with the …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed July 15, 2002 and granted October 16, 2012. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended July 15, 2022.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 15, 2024.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
