Abstract From the Canadian patent

A trampoline system has a rebounding bed (16) and a resilient member (10) located below the bed at such a position that the bed (16) depresses the resilient member (10) when the bed is sufficiently depressed by a person jumping on the bed. The presence of the resilient member (10) makes it easy tune the system to adjust the performance of the trampoline and to minimize impacts on a jumper and thereby reduce the likelihood of bed-impact injuries.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed August 14, 2001 and granted January 3, 2012. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended August 14, 2021.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 14, 2023.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
