Polymeric compositions containing a high percentage of bound polypropylene glycol provide matrices for the controlled release of drugs and medicinal agents. The compositions are prepared by the polymerization of ethylenically unsaturated polypropylene glycol containing monomers. Copolymers of ethylenically unsaturated polypropylene glycol containing monomers with comonomers are also disclosed. The drug loaded polymeric compositions of this invention find particular utility as ocular insets for the controlled release of drug(s) into the eye.

Why it's free to use
- Filed August 7, 2002. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended August 7, 2022.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 7, 2024.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
