Abstract From the Canadian patent

The present invention relates to the transference of signaling frames on GERAN (GSM/EDGE Radio Access Network) half rate channels utilizing a modulation scheme carrying n bits in one symbol. In order to be able to utilize the existing channel coding developed for channels with different modulations and to avoid high rate convolutional and block codes the AMR signalling frame to , be transferred is coded using a coding procedure defined for a GSM half rate channel utilizing a GMSK modulation scheme the coding procedure outputting a , coded output stream. In response to said coding each bit of the coded output , stream is repeated n times whereby a repeated bit stream is obtained and , …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed August 27, 2001 and granted January 10, 2012. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended August 27, 2021.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 27, 2023.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
