Abstract From the Canadian patent

A solid oxide fuel cell stack (57) generates power by an electrochemical reaction of oxygen with hydrogen or hydrogen and carbon monoxide in a reformed gas (27) which is produced from a natural gas (1) by a reformer (3) and supplies waste heat and an anode exhaust gas (61) containing steam to the reformer (3) . The reformed gas (27) produced by the reformer (3) is reduced its CO concentration through a CO shift converter (4) and a CO selective oxidizer (5). A polymer electrolyte fuel cell stack (9) generates power by an electrochemical reaction of oxygen with hydrogen contained in a reformed gas (38) which is emitted through the CO selective oxidizer (5) with reduced CO concentration and …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed November 6, 2003 and granted July 5, 2011. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended November 6, 2023.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 6, 2025.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
