A method and an apparatus for smoothing data according to a first smoothing technique and selectively adjusting the data according to a second smoothing technique. A first smoothed data point is suitably set equal to a first raw data point (step 202) and the system (100) proceeds to the next raw data point (step 204). Before performing smoothing operations the smoothing system (100) , initially determines whether smoothing is appropriate for the data point and if so, performs a basic smoothing operation on the data. The smoothing system performs a threshold comparison to determine whether the smoothing is appropriate.

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 24, 2002. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 24, 2022.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 24, 2024.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
