Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention concerns novel compounds capable of modulating the activity and stimulating the production of catalytic antibodies. More particularly the invention concerns a compound capable of increasing the activity of an antibody characterised in that it has specific affinity for the catalytic site of said antibody and it is not immunogenic. Such compounds are useful in particular for therapeutic treatment or prevention of a pathology related to an enzymatic deficiency to stimulate in vivo hydrolysis of xenobiotics drugs, medicines or any other molecule potentially toxic for the organism or for preventing or inhibiting allergic reactions.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 22, 2002 and granted April 21, 2015. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 22, 2022.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 22, 2024.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
