Abstract From the Canadian patent

According to the present disclosure, a transfer top (124) adapted to carry a patient is transferable between a mobile base (122) and a docking station (100) in a hospital room. Thus, instead of transferring a patient between a stretcher (120) and a hosptial bed, the entire transfer top (124) with the patient thereon is transferred between the mobile base (122) and the docking station (100).

Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 20, 2002. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 20, 2022.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 20, 2024.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
