A composition including nanoparticles each having an acidic polymerizable siloxane moiety. For example, a hydrolysis stable self-etching, self-priming , dental adhesive composition including 90 to 10 percent by weight of an aqueous phase, and 10 to 90 percent by weight of acidic polymerizable nanoparticles. The acidic poylmerizable nanoparticles are obtainable by hydrolysis of a mixture containing one or more hydrolyzable organosilicon compounds wherein (i) at least a portion of the hydrolyzable organisilicon compounds contains one or more polymerizable groups and (ii) at least a portion of the hydrolyzable organisilicon compounds contain one or more acidic moieties.

Why it's free to use
- Filed January 14, 2003 and granted November 15, 2011. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended January 14, 2023.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by January 14, 2025.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
