An analysis circuit (22) is operable to analyse the rate of change of the voltage (18) and to provide an alarm signal at (24) in the event that the rate of change continues in excess of predetermined rate for a period in excess of a predetermined time. The alarm signal at (24) could for , example, be used to indicate that an automatic door being driven by the motor has been blocked by a person or object which could be injured or damaged.

Why it's free to use
- Filed April 30, 2002 and granted June 25, 2013. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended April 30, 2022.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 30, 2024.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
