Abstract From the Canadian patent

The present invention relates to a two-hybrid system for studying proteinprotein interactions in mammalian host cells. The invention provides methods reagents and kits for carrying out the two-hybrid screen. Accordingly the invention provides a bait construct that is capable of targeting a bait protein to a specific subcellular locale within the host cell. The invention also provides a prey construct that contains a detection sequence fused to a prey protein. The bait and prey constructs are introduced into a host cell under conditions that promote expression of the bait and prey constructs. A positive bait/prey interaction can be detected by comparing the subcellular localization of …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed April 22, 2002. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended April 22, 2022.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 22, 2024.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
