Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention provides an increased field of vision. By having a flat surface, and a curved edge, this type of mirror allows the driver to see into what would normally be the blind spot thus effectively, eliminating the blind spot. The flat surface allows the driver to see a non distorted view of the side of the truck where it is important to, have a clear view especially when backing up. And the curved edge allows the driver to see the wider picture where a blind spot would normally be without having to look at another mirror.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed September 26, 2003. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended September 26, 2023.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 26, 2025.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
