Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to an actuator comprising a coil support that can be displaced in a magnetoconductive housing by magnetic loading on a magnetic cylinder having a sequence of permanent magnets and pole disks. The invention is characterized in that the dimensions of the permanent magnet (16) and the pole disk (17) are adapted to each other in such a manner that the front crosssectional surface of the permanent magnet (16) corresponds to at least the peripheral surface of an adjacent pole disk (17) and that the width of the coil (23) associated with the pole disk (17) is greater than the width of the pole disk (17) by the stroke amplitude of the coil support (19). The coil …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed November 14, 2001 and granted March 29, 2011. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended November 14, 2021.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 14, 2023.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
