The subject invention pertains to novel mutant polynucleotide molecules that encode enzymes that have increased heat stability. These polynucleotides when , expressed in plants, result in increased yield in plants grown under conditions of heat stress. In one embodiment the polynucleotide molecules of , the subject invention encode maize endosperm ADP glucose pyrophosphorylase (AGP) and soluble starch synthase (SSS) enzyme activities. Plants and plant issue bred to contain, or transformed with the mutant polynecleotides, and , expressing the polypeptides encoded by the polynucleotides are also , contemplated by the present invention. The subject invention also concerns methods for …

Why it's free to use
- Filed March 14, 2002. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 14, 2022.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 14, 2024.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
