A superconducting cable includes a first conductor layer formed of superconducting wires, and an insulating layer formed at the outer periphery of the first conductor layer. The first conductor layer is an assembly of a plurality of superconducting wires obtained by forming an RE based superconductor layer on a metal substrate. The current is limited by an electrical resistance generated when the current of the first conductor layer exceeds the critical current, thereby preventing the superconducting cable from being damaged. A superconducting cable line is formed of a base and a current limiter, which is formed by using the above-described superconducting cable. Accordingly, when …

Why it's free to use
- Filed October 10, 2002 and granted July 10, 2012. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended October 10, 2022.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 10, 2024.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
