Abstract From the Canadian patent

A method for detecting PMD indicative parameters of an optical fiber link (12) comprising at least one transmission channel in which is transmitted a first wideband optical signal with the a B band comprises the steps of dividing the B band in sub-bands. For each subband is produced a second reference optical signal (2) with which to find a thrid optical signal (s3) which is the superposition of s1 and s2. For each of the third signals are calculated first parameters considered indicative of the PMD thereof and with the first parameters of all the sub-bands are calculated second parameters considered indicative of the PMD of the first wiedband signal. The above method can be used …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 4, 2002. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 4, 2022.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 4, 2024.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
