Abstract From the Canadian patent

The switch comprises a central buffer memory (30) for the temporary storage of received data traffic until routing can be carried out and the messages received can be retransmitted. The invention is characterized in that the central buffer memory (30) and access to said buffer memory (30) by various input/output ports are managed by a sequencer (40) in order to have an implicit measurement of the storage time in the central buffer memory (30) and in order to minimize the number of switchings generating consumption and electromagnetic interference. The buffer memory is advantageously embodied with the aid of several modules (A B, C D) operating in parallel.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 8, 2002 and granted September 20, 2011. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended March 8, 2022.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 8, 2024.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
