The invention relates to an optical resonant frequency converter consisting of two mirrors (1, 2) and a non-linear crystal (3) in a ring resonator arrangement, for converting a laser beam into a frequency doubled beam. Due to the refractive effect of the prism-shaped non-linear crystal, two mirrors , suffice in order to form a ring resonator having a total of three optical elements. A favourable choice of orientation of the axes of the crystal in relation to the direction of the laser beam reduces the dispersion in the crystal. In one form of embodiment, the entry surface of the crystal is at a Brewster angle in relation to the beam whereas the exit surface is , perpendicular in …

Why it's free to use
- Filed December 13, 2001. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended December 13, 2021.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 13, 2023.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
