The invention concerns an optical modulator comprising a waveguide structure forming a two-wave interferometer made of an electro-optical material and comprising two arms, a set of electrodes connected to a controllable electric source for applying an electric field on at least one of the arms of the interferometer so as to vary the phase difference between light waves along one or the other of the two arms. It comprises two sets of electrodes placed respectively on each of the interferometer arms one in the non-reversed region of the electro-optical material the other in the reversed region, and a delay line placed between the control electronics of the electrode sets introducing a delay …

Why it's free to use
- Filed November 15, 2001. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended November 15, 2021.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 15, 2023.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
