A method of making zinc sulfide based electroluminescent phosphors is described wherein a first-fired zinc sulfide material having a hexagonal .beta.-ZnS crystal structure is at least partially converted to a distorted hexagonal .beta.-ZnS crystal structure by ultrasonic irradiation. The first-fired material is then fired at a lower temperature to form an electroluminescent phosphor.

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 15, 2003. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 15, 2023.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 15, 2025.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
