Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to the use of the compounds of the general structure (I), or the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof wherein X represents , CR4 or N, Y represents CR5 or N and X and Y are not simultaneously N, and W represents N or NR8. The novel compounds are used for producing a medicament for inhibiting NO synthase, for treating migraine and for treating septicemic shock, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's chorea inflammations, inflammatory pains, cerebral ischemia diabetes, meningitis, arteriosclerosis and/or for wound healing.
