Abstract From the Canadian patent

The present invention discloses novel hydrocarbon core polysulfide silanes and methods of preparing the hydrocarbon core polysulfide silanes. Preferably the , silanes of the present invention contain assemblies of a single unit of a hydrolyzable silane group, tethered to one end of a chain of sulfur atoms and , several of these assemblies are bound to a common central hydrophobic core via the outer end of the sulfur atoms chain. The hydrocarbon core polysulfide silanes may be incorporated into filled elastomeric compositions providing improved dispersibility of the filler materials. Mineral fillers may be pretreated with the hydrocarbon core polysulfide silanes prior to use in …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed September 4, 2001 and granted August 2, 2011. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended September 4, 2021.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 4, 2023.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
