Abstract From the Canadian patent

A method of transmitting symbols in a wireline multi-carrier communication system in which each symbol is modulated for transmission over a carrier group of pre-determined size. The method involves identifying all available carrier , groups and transmitting a replicate of the symbol on each of the available carrier groups. In preferred embodiments the individual signals transmitted , over respective carriers are phase-offset relative to each other in order to mitigate potential peaks in signal power. Corresponding apparatus and the generated signal are also provided.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed July 30, 2001. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended July 30, 2021.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 30, 2023.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
