Abstract From the Canadian patent

Reaction mixtures (20) that include exothermic generating particles (22) having a water soluble coating (24) encasing a portion of the particles (22) and, optionally an aqueous solution (28) and a buffer (26). The reaction , mixtures (20) are especially suited to generate heat in a controllable manner. In one such controlled reaction, the reaction components are mixed together and the mixture increases in temperature to a Set Temperature within a predetermined time, and the mixture remains at the Set Temperature for a longer period of time. Apparatuses (10) and methods that use these reaction mixtures (22) are also disclosed.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed July 13, 2000. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended July 13, 2020.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 13, 2022.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
