Abstract From the Canadian patent

Novel chain polymers comprising weakly basic anionic moieties chemically bound into a polyether backbone at, controllable anionic separations are presented. Preferred polymers comprise orthoborate anions capped with dibasic acid residues. preferably oxalato or malonato acid residues. The conductivity of these polymers is found to he high relative to that of most conventional salt-in-polymer electrolytes. The conductivity at high temperatures and wide electrochemical window make these materials especially suitable as electrolytes for rechargeable lithium batteries.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed June 16, 2001. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended June 16, 2021.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 16, 2023.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
