A technique for processing dense wavelength division multiplexed optical signals in a network node (10) is disclosed. In one embodiment the technique , is realized as an optical power managed network node (10) comprising a dense wavelength division multiplexing device (18) for combining a plurality of narrowband optical signals into a multiplexed polychromatic optical signal. The optical power managed network node (10) also comprises a wavelengthselective optical power detector (22) for detecting the power of each of the plurality of narrowband optical signals combined into the multiplexed polychromatic optical signal. The optical power managed network node (10) further comprises a …

Why it's free to use
- Filed March 6, 2001. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 6, 2021.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 6, 2023.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
