Abstract From the Canadian patent

This invention provides cost-effective alternatives to reduce the cost associated with customary blowdown (1) from steam generating equipment (100). By selectively recycling process blowdown streams using secondary vaporizers (200), the net result is a partial replacement of wastewater stream with almost an equivalent quantity of clean steam condensate. The heat transfer is carried out by indirect contact devices such as shell and tube heat exchanger and the like, without mixing of the two process streams to allow condensate recovery while avoiding cross contamination. This invention carries economic as well as environmental credits. A condensate recovery apparatus (42) can be …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed April 9, 2001. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended April 9, 2021.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 9, 2023.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
