The present invention is to provide a purification method of obtaining N-(1(S)ethoxycarbonyl-3-phenylpropyl)-L-alanine of high quality in good yield with high productivity, which is accordingly suited for commercial scale application. An impurity-contaminated N-(1(S)-ethoxycarbonyl-3-phenylpropyl)-Lalanine is crystallized from a mixed solvent of alcohol and water in a volume ratio of alcohol/water being 1 to 20 to remove a contaminating impurity into a mother liquor and give crystals of N-(1(S)-ethoxycarbonyl-3-phenylpropyl)-Lalanine.

Why it's free to use
- Filed March 19, 2002. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 19, 2022.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 19, 2024.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
