This invention provides polymer filaments having a multilobal cross-section. The cross-section can have a filament factor of about 2.0 or greater and a tip ratio of greater than about 0.2. The filaments may be used as-spun as a spinoriented feed yarn or as a partially-oriented yarn. The multifilament yarns made from these filaments are useful to make articles with subdued luster and low glitter.

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 24, 2001 and granted January 18, 2011. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 24, 2021.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 24, 2023.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
