A method is provided for providing a multi-tier client/server achitecture for storing files. A plurality of files and a command to load the files into the database are received from one of the user stations. Also a data management , template corresponding to the files is selected. Next it is validated that , all of the files to be loaded match the data management template. Then the , files are sent to a database for loading in the database upon validation that the files match the data management template.
