Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to a cable arrangement (CA) where three cables (L1 L2, L3) have at least two cross-bonding locations (SCB) when transmitting power between a first location (A) and a second location (B). At the cross-bonding location (CBL) not only the screens (51L 52L, 53L; 51R, 52R, 53R) but also , the water sensing wires (71L 72L, 73L; 71R, 72R, 73R) are cross-bonded in cross-bonding devices (WCBD, SCBD). Thus voltage differences between the , water sensing wires and the screens of the respective cables in the threephase system can be avoided. The invention finds particular application in high power transmission systems using high voltage cables.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 29, 2001. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 29, 2021.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 29, 2023.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
