In a fluid flow restrictor (400), the amount of fluid flow restriction increases in ersponse to higher dispensing system pressures and decreases in response to lower dispensing system pressures. In this manner a relatively , consistent flow rate of fluid (16) being dispensed can be maintained regardless of fluctuations in system pressure. Variable resistance is provided by changing the length of the fluid flow path or by changing the crosssectional area, and, thus, the volume of the fluid flow path or by changing , both the length and the cross-sectional area of the fluid flow path.

Why it's free to use
- Filed February 5, 2001. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended February 5, 2021.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by February 5, 2023.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
