Information is recorded on an optical information recording medium in 3dimensional interference patterns so that information can be erased in part. An optical information recording medium (1) comprises an information recording layer (3) consisting of magneto-optical recording material. In a pickup (11) of an optical information recording/reproducing device a light modulator (22) , spatially modulates a laser beam emitted by a light source (20) and generates information light. A light modulator (16) spatially modulates the phase of the laser beam emitted by the light source (20) and generates a spatially phasemodulated recording reference beam. The information beam and the recording …

Why it's free to use
- Filed March 9, 2001. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 9, 2021.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 9, 2023.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
