The present invention is directed to producing a resin which when formed into , a film, has excellent gas barrier and/or moisture barrier (low MVTR) properties. Further, the resin has a relatively high molecular weight distribution, preferably above 6, and has excellent processability/extrudability. The resin is produced using a cyclopentadienyl chromium compound, preferably a mono CpCr compound on a support, preferably a , silica support. A particularly preferred catalyst for use in the present invention comprises pentamethylcyclopentadienyldimethylchromiumpyridine. Preferably, the catalyst is used in a slurry polymerization process.

Why it's free to use
- Filed March 16, 2001. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 16, 2021.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 16, 2023.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
